Travelling to Casa del Sol

The apartment is within the Casares region of Andalucia, between Estepona and Manilva. It is within what is known as the “New Golden Mile” and as you might expect there is significant investment in new properties and the infrastructure in the area. Unlike the older and traditional holiday areas, the area is not particularly built up. The nearest town is Sabanillas, approx 5 minutes drive to the West, which has a beach, restaraunts and a supermarket. The town of Estepona is approx. 10 minutes drive to the East and has a long promenade along the beach, numerous shops, restaraunts, supermarkets, etc.

Casa del Sol is approximately 50 minutes drive from Malaga airport, 90 minutes from Jerez aiport and 30 minutes drive from Gibraltar airport. Flight time from the UK is 21/2 - 3 hours. There are many cheap flights from main and regional airports in the UK to Malaga. At present the only airlines flying from the UK to Gibraltar are Monarch, Easyjet and British Airways. You can fly to Jerez from Manchester and Stansted. If you can avoid school holidays and are fairly flexible about dates and which airport you fly from, then there are real bargains to be had from the UK to Malaga and Jerez, even as cheap as £10 each way! Otherwise there are various websites which will search for you; a Google search on “Cheap flights to Malaga” normally results in several options. During school holidays, the low cost airlines are not always the cheapest, sometimes British Airways has cheaper flights. Car hire – not included in the cost of the holiday.

Hiring a car will give you lots of flexibility to explore and make the most of your holiday. If you Google “car hire at Malaga airport” you will have plenty of choice. However, be aware that in high season the queues for the cheapest companies at Malaga are endless. Alternatively, we can arrange an airport pick up for you, please ask us for a quote. If you are travelling with young children we advise you to take your own car seats on the plane, a bit of hassle but most airlines don’t charge extra at present. The rental company car seats are usually in a terrible state. For babies you can often take the car seat in the aeroplane. We recommend a Sat Nav system for driving in Spain.
